A local man who has had prior contacts with Ceres Police was arrested once again on Thursday afternoon when he was picked up for a warrant issued by the California Department of Corrections.

While on patrol at 2:13 p.m. in the 1700 block of Mitchell Road, Officer Christian Izquierdo recognized Charles Overturf, 39, and saw him run into the Hope Chest thrift shop. Officer Izquierdo ran a warrant check and arrested him for the outstanding warrant. He was booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center.
