Sheriffs detectives investigate Blaker Road homicide

A Monday evening call for medical aid in the 4200 block of Blaker Road switched to a homicide investigation launched by the Stanislaus County Sheriff's Department.

Emergency medical personnel rushed to the home just outside of Ceres' southern city limit line at approximately 9:17 p.m. When they arrived, they found the body of a deceased man in the home and called for Sheriff's deputies to respond.

Detectives worked throughout the night processing the crime scene and interviewing witnesses. Based on the preliminary investigation, they are investigating the death of the man as a homicide.

Detectives would not release further details on the investigation.

The cause of death will be determined during the autopsy, and the identification of the victim is pending next of kin notification.
