A masked man who used a knife to rob the 7-Eleven at 1305 Herndon Road and didn’t make off with any money early Friday and got away before police could respond.

At 3:44 a.m. a customer of the store called 9-1-1 to report that on the way out of the store a seeing man wearing a black bandana over his face, black hoodie and black jean shorts began to enter the store.  The caller said the robber appeared nervous and turned around and left the store when he saw other people inside. One minute later, a second customer called 9-1-1 to advise the man pulled a knife on the clerk inside the store. The suspect was last seen getting into a grey or blue sedan and leaving west on Joyce Avenue. Officers flooded the area but were unable to find the suspect.

The clerk said the robber pulled out a kitchen knife and banged it on the counter while telling the clerk to give him “everything you got!” The clerk refused and the male left the business without taking anything.
