A 17-year-old Modesto boy was arrested early Wednesday, April 5 after leading Ceres Police on a pursuit.

The boy was being pulled over at 2:28 a.m. by Officer Kevin Roseen in the area of the Hatch Road overpass for vehicle code violations. The teen decided to accelerate in the Mercedes sedan and drove onto southbound Highway 99. The chase went to Turlock where the teen exited the freeway and continued driving throughout the western side of Turlock before stopping in a rural area in the 3100 block of N. Washington Road.

Officers found the vehicle unoccupied but with the assistance of the Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Department Air Unit, the driver was located and arrested. He was booked into Stanislaus County Juvenile Hall on charges of evading police in a vehicle and resisting arrest.

His name was not released because of a state law protecting the identities of minors who have been arrested.
