Teens arrested in stolen car after chase

A 17-year-old driver and his 15-year-old passenger were arrested and booked into Juvenile Hall Tuesday morning, March 5 following a police pursuit of a stolen car.

According to Ceres Police Department spokesman Lt. Chris Perry, the stolen car was spotted at 10:40 a.m. by Sgt. Vince Hooper. The car was being driven northbound on Nadine Avenue from Richland Avenue. When officers attempted to stop the stolen silver-colored Honda Accord, the driver continued to evade officers. Officer Eric Gallegos was able to end the pursuit after two miles by performing a Pursuit Intervention Technique (PIT) maneuver as the vehicle turned onto River Road from Musick Avenue.
