Four teenagers were arrested on burglary charges after an alert citizen in the 2800 block of Paris Avenue reported seeing him looking through windows of a house on Saturday afternoon.

Officer Kiashira Ruiz responded to the 12:31 p.m. call and found the four suspects. As she spoke to them one 14-year-old boy was acting strangely by holding his arm against his waist. She patted him down and found a handgun in his waistband. A records check revealed that the gun was stolen during an Oct. 8 residential burglary on Tranquil Lane.

While the officer detained the four, a victim of a residential burglary in the 2700 block of Malik Avenue called police. It turned out that all four teens had property taken from the Malik home, including car keys, money, a computer and headphones. The property was returned to its rightful owner and all four were booked into Juvenile Hall.

The suspects were a 14-year-old Modesto boy who was charged with possession of a hand gun, possession of stolen property, burglary and conspiracy.

A second 14-year-old Modesto boy was charged with possession of stolen property, burglary and conspiracy.

A Modesto girl, 13, and 13-year-old Modesto boy were each booked on possession of stolen property, burglary and conspiracy.
