Three men arrested at end of Ceres Police pursuit into Modesto

Johnny Manjarrez, Israel Gonzalez and Izaiah Cabuena were arrested Saturday at the conclusion of a police pursuit.

Three men riding in a car that led Ceres Police on an early Saturday vehicle pursuit were arrested on various charges.

The incident unfolded at 2:08 a.m., when Officer Aaron Pinon attempted to stop the driver of a white Mercedes sedan for vehicle code violations in the area of Bystrum Road and Latimer Avenue. The driver would not pull over and a pursuit led officers through Modesto until the vehicle stopped in the area of Sisk and Rumble roads with three occupants running in different directions. Helping to locate the men was the Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Department helicopter crew flying overhead.

Driver Johnny Manjarrez, 19, of Modesto, was arrested for evading police, resisting arrest and a violation of probation.

Passenger Israel Gonzalez, 20, of Modesto was arrested for resisting arrest and a violation of probation while a second passenger, Izaiah Cabuena, 20, of Modesto, was found to have a felony warrant for his arrest and was additionally arrested for resisting arrest and a violation of probation.

All three were booked at the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center.
