A Friday evening traffic stop made by new Officer Krandall Vandagriff at Munchkin Lane and Yellow Brick Road resulted in the arrests of two occupants on drug charges.

At 11:25 p.m. the officer approached the driver and noticed a methamphetamine pipe lying in his lap. He removed driver Mario Tubera, 34, and passenger Angela Sanchez, 34, both of Modesto. Because Tubera is on parole and had a warrant for being a parolee at large, he was arrested. He was found in possession of a hypodermic syringe loaded with heroin.

Sanchez was also found with a syringe loaded with heroin and was charged with possession of heroin and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Tubera was arrested and charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of heroin, possession of drug paraphernalia, and violation of parole.
