A man wanted by the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation was spotted by Ceres Police Officer Jeffery Godfrey on Tuesday morning, March 30 and taken into custody.

The arrest of 39-year-old Charles Overturf came at 10:20 a.m. at Mitchell Road and Dale Avenue. Officer Godfrey recognized Overturf from prior contacts and received confirmation that he was still wanted for an outstanding warrant.

Overturf was booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center.
