Ceres Police arrested a 34-year-old man they believe stabbed a 20-year-old in a June 19 attempted murder.

The stabbing took place in the 1300 block of Hatch Road. The victim reported he was stabbed by a Brandon whom he befriended earlier in the day. Brandon reportedly stole the victim's car keys and fled in his vehicle. The victim, who suffered potential life threatening wounds, was treated at a local hospital.

Detectives worked diligently to obtain a surveillance photograph of the subject believed to be Brandon at a local department store. Detectives distributed the photograph in hopes of identifying the suspect. A local agency contacted detectives and identified the man as Brandon Mize. The victim positively identified Mize as his assailant so detectives distributed fliers containing his image and noting that he was wanted for suspicion of attempted murder and robbery.

Officer Brian Petersen of the Ceres Police Department located Mize on Hatch Road and arrested and booked him without incident.
