A 37-year-old Modesto man was arrested during a Monday traffic stop after giving the officer a fictitious name, likely because he had two warrants issued for his arrest.
At approximately 1:04 p.m., Ceres Police Officer Michael Ferreira was patrolling the area of Richland Avenue near Evans Road when he stopped the driver of a Nissan Altima for vehicle code violations. Officer Ferreira contacted the driver, Victor Yepez who initially provided a false name. His true identity was confirmed through the investigation and a records check revealed two felony warrants for his arrest, one of which was for identity theft.
Yepez was arrested for the warrants, providing a false name to an officer and violating the terms of his probation. He was booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center.
