A 34-year-old Modesto man was arrested Wednesday afternoon, Oct. 5 after the Cadillac CT he allegedly stole broke down in the Home Depot parking lot on Hatch Road.

Police were called at 4:37 p.m. by a loss prevention officer of the store who reported of Cadillac CT breaking down in the lot – possibly because it ran out of gas – and blocking an aisle. Luis Anguianocalzada, 34, of Modesto, walked away from the car through the parking lot while a passenger walked into the store. Officer Lydia Prieto waited and saw Anguianocalzada return to the Cadillac and began to push it out of the aisle.

The Cadillac was discovered to be stolen earlier in the day in Ceres.

Anguianocalzada was arrested for possession of a stolen vehicle and booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center.
