Solo crash blamed on intoxicated driver

A 26-year-old Modesto driver was cited and released to a family member after he allegedly drove drunk and crashed into a fire hydrant and power pole on Saturday evening.

Reports of a solo crash at Hatch Road and Richland Avenue were phoned into 911 dispatchers at 6:52 p.m. Officer Matthew Myers responded and found a gray Chevrolet Silverado on its side.

Driver Zachariah Law, 26, of Modesto, appeared to be intoxicated and a DUI investigation was conducted. Law submitted to a breathalyzer test and was found to with double the legal amount of alcohol in his bloodstream to operate a motor vehicle.
