A 42-year-old Turlock man was arrested Thursday evening as he drove eastbound on Whitmore Avenue from Mitchell Road in a tan Toyota Camry.

Police were alerted at 5:30 p.m. to a possible drunken driver and Officer Tony Scopesi located the car headed northbound on Boothe Road from Whitmore Avenue. Driver Sukhwant Singh, 42, of Turlock, was seen traveling between  6 to 8 mph and bumping up against the eastern curb of Boothe Road.

Officer Scopesi stopped Singh as Officer Kevin Sakasegawa conducted a DUI investigation and determined that Singh was over three times the legal limit to drive. He was booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on charges of DUI.
