A vehicle stop for a code violation led Ceres Police to discover that an intoxicated 19-year-old Turlock woman was on the road and promptly took her to jail on DUI charges early Friday.

At 12:23 a.m., Officer Aaron Pinon was patrolling the area of Mitchell and Service roads when he stopped Alyssa Salazar in her Acura TL. Salazar appeared to be under the influence of an alcoholic beverage. She was administered field sobriety tests and the officer concluded she was drunk.

Salazar was arrested for DUI, and her breath sample showed a blood alcohol content that was over twice the legal limit. She was booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center.
