Luis Hernandez, 36, of Ceres will be facing charges in court that he was intoxicated when he was pulled over for vehicle code violations early on Saturday morning.

At 1:55 a.m., Officer Fernando Salgado was patrolling the 3900 block of Mitchell Road when he saw an Audi S4 whose driver executed an illegal action and pulled him over. Officer Samuel Garcia arrived to assist and when he spoke to Hernandez, he smelling alcohol on his breath and reacted like a drunken person would.

After failing a series of field sobriety tests Hernandez was arrested for DUI. A sample of his breath into the breathalyzer showed that he was double the legal limit for an adult to drive. Hernandez was booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center.
