A 47-year-old Ceres/Modesto man was arrested last week for allegedly assaulting a loss prevention officer who tried to interrupt a theft at the Hatch Road Home Depot.

The store called police at 3:20 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 29 with a report that Jason Beach, 47, of Ceres, had stolen over $450 worth of property. When he was confronted, Beach allegedly physically assaulted the store employee and left. Officer Christian Izquierdo began checking the area for Beach and found him near the store. He was taken into custody and booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center for robbery charges.
